Black Ops IIBuried

the endgame

the button that ends the black ops ii story. it needs all four of you to have finished all three quests, all on the same side.

the ending, and every easter egg across the three maps reset so any side can be done again

difficulty and time are an estimate made while writing, not a measurement.

before you start

the steps

  1. read the tracker

the back of the courthouse, ground flooranyone

there is a box on the wall with a grid of lights on it, three across and four down. one row per player, one column per quest: Tower of Babble on the left, High Maintenance in the middle, Mined Games on the right.

orange is Maxis, blue is Richtofen. twelve lights in one colour is the only state the button works in, and this is the fastest way to find out which person is short of what.

    tip

check it before anybody starts a run rather than after. it is the only place the game tells you what it thinks you have done.

  2. press the button

    the same boxone player

with all twelve lights the same colour, walk up to the tracker, open it and press the button underneath.

Richtofen's ending: he takes the Aether, Maxis stops existing, and he moves into Samuel's head. everybody keeps a permanent Fire Sale and a Mule Kick that carries four weapons instead of three.

Maxis' ending: the map goes orange, Maxis takes the Aether and puts Richtofen's soul into one random zombie. that one has blue eyes among all the orange, and drops a powerup every time it is killed.

you only get this wrong once

this wipes every easter egg you have done on all three maps. that is the point, since it is what lets you run the other side, but it is not reversible.

arrow keys or j and k to move, d to tick this one off.

all of it, done.

what that got youthe ending, and every easter egg across the three maps reset so any side can be done again

where this came from

one source. most guides here have two; this is one nobody else has written up.

on a guide

the keys under "on a guide" do nothing elsewhere, because what they press is not there.
