it takes a dragon's fire off you completely, which matters twice: once for the Valkyrie Drone trophy, and once in the boss fight.
you only get this wrong onceit does not come back. breaking the shield in the boss fight means standing in dragon fire for the rest of it, so do not spend it on ordinary zombies down there.
